Welcome to the Rhode Island College Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning.
The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) promotes the professional growth and development of Rhode Island College faculty as teachers and as scholars of teaching and learning. The FCTL supports faculty at every stage of professional life and promotes a campus-wide community and culture committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
The FCTL is by faculty, for faculty. We foster a public dialogue about teaching and learning across disciplinary lines. We partner with faculty and staff members who share their expertise and experiences with their colleagues via several Professional Development formats. We offer workshops, new faculty orientation, seminars, panel discussions, an email discussion group, an annual on-line journal, and walk-in or by appointment support services. The menu on the left-hand side of this homepage provides information about current FCTL programming.
Check out what your colleagues have to say about teaching and learning in the latest volume of
Issues in Teaching and Learning.
email@example.com to subscribe to the email discussion group, iTeach. Topics range from what to do about snow days to how to grade performance for small group assignments. What’s on your mind? We want to know!
If you have ideas for future programming, we want to hear about them. We are located in Adams Library, room 406. Stop in to say hello, have a cup of coffee, and join the FCTL dialogue.
