Orientation Employment Opportunities

The Office of Academic Support and Information Services (OASIS) has nine Faculty Advisor positions available for new student orientation. Applicants must commit to work May 28 – June 28, 2013 and August 16, 19, 20, and 21, 2013. January 2014 orientation (January 3, 6, and 7) is available, but not required. Candidates should have knowledge of RIC curricula, programs, and policies, as well as experience working with students both inside the classroom and outside the classroom, including experience as an academic advisor. The salary is $3400 for summer; separate compensation for January.

OASIS has 12 Student Peer Counselor positions available. Candidates must be available to work May 19 – June 28, 2013; August 16, 19, 20, and 21, 2013; and January 3, 6, and 7, 2014. The position requires a high degree of interpersonal and leadership skills, knowledge of RIC curricula and policies, a GPA of 2.40 or better, and the enthusiasm to help acquaint new students and their families with the college. The salary is $1,700 ($1,900 returning peers) for June; separate compensation for August and January.
