Summer Housing
The Office of Residential Life and Housing will be offering summer housing for both summer class sessions. All applicants must be enrolled in summer school at Rhode Island College. Students approved for summer housing will be placed in either a double or single room depending on space available. Please remember that all summer school students are responsible for all policies listed in the Resident Student Handbook.
Summer Housing Dates:
Summer Session I
Classes begin May 20th and end June 28th
Check in on May 20th between 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Housing Office in New Hall
Check out on June 28th between 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Housing Office in New Hall
Summer Session II
Classes begin July 1st and end August 9th
Check in on July 1st between 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Housing Office in New Hall
Check out on August 9th between 9:00am and 4:00pm in the Housing Office in New Hall
*Students staying for both sessions do not need to check out in between sessions.
All residence halls will close for the summer on Friday, August 9th at 4:00 pm
Cost and Payment:
Cost for summer housing will be $650.00 per session, $1300.00 for both sessions
To secure a space on campus during summer sessions, please make a deposit of $50. Full payment is due to Bursar’s Office before student moves in. Students will not be allowed to pay on a weekly basis.
Applications for summer housing can be picked up in the Office of Residential Life and Housing in the New Residence Hall. Please return applications to the Office of Residential Life and Housing along with a cash or check deposit of $50.00*. (Checks are made payable to Rhode Island College).
*The $50.00 Summer Housing deposit is refundable for cancelations prior to May 10, 2013. All cancelations are due to the Office of Residential Life and Housing Office in writing prior to the deadline in order to receive the refund.
Please note: The Office of Residential Life and Housing reserves the right to cancel summer housing if an appropriate number of students have not deposited by May 10, 2013. If summer housing is canceled, students who have deposited will be notified and their deposit will be returned.
