Residence Hall Councils

Each residence hall has an individual Hall Council composed of an Executive Board and a Suite/Floor Representative from each area in the hall, who are voted in at the beginning of the academic year. Every Suite/Floor Representative is responsible for conducting business and organizing activities with other members. Funds for each Hall Council are provided from the hall dues that the residents pay each year.

The councils are actively involved in handling residents' concerns, hall elections, programs and activities.

Resident Student Association (RSA)

This organization is designed to assist with student’s needs and concerns and to provide programs for the residents which are on a larger scale than the ones that the Hall Councils usually provide. RSA also develops and co-sponsors a number of programs with other campus groups. Representatives from all five halls meet together on a regularly scheduled basis and elect officers from within the group.

Activities and projects of the Resident Student Association have included: campaigns for better food service at the college; increased safety for motor vehicles and parking areas; review and update of Residence Hall Policies; sponsorship of marathons to raise money for charity; semi-formal dances; talent shows; trips to plays and sporting events and many other programs. Funding is provided for this organization by Student Community Government (student activity fees) and the Office of Residential Life and Housing.
