Course Reserves: Guidelines & Deadlines
Fall Semester: August 21, 2009
All
reserve lists submitted by the above deadlines will be processed and available
by the first week of classes. Lists
received after the deadline may take up to one
week for completion. Please
submit the lists as early as possible. Reserve lists that lack any required information will not be processed
until the missing information is obtained. Processing will be expedited if the following guidelines are adhered to
completely.
- Submit reserve lists on the
Worksheet Form, using more than one
sheet if necessary.
- Materials placed on reserve should be required or
high demand
readings for specific courses.
- Items from other libraries can not be placed on Reserve here.
- There is a 24 title limit per course.
- Gather the library items and bring them to the reserve desk when
you submit the list for processing.
- Fill out order slips for any books that the library does not own
and submit these slips along with your reserve list, indicating
RUSH/RESERVE at the top of the order slip. Please be aware that even
RUSH-ordered books can take months to arrive and the library cannot
guarantee that these books will be received in time for the current
semester.
- When placing photocopied material on reserve, it is your
responsibility to do the photocopying. Please be sure to abide by
the Copyright laws.
- We reserve the right to limit the number of copies per title to
be processed. We suggest that 1-2 copies per title are usually
sufficient to meet all needs.
- Select a reserve loan period to best meet the needs of the
students. Only 1 selection is allowed and it cannot be changed
during the semester. Letters of special permission on department
stationery will be required prior to any changes in checkout policy.
No exceptions will be made.
- A valid college ID is required of everyone seeking to use
reserve materials. Please inform your students of this policy.
- Reserve lists will be removed at the end of the semester, unless
we are notified to do otherwise. Courses taught every semester can
be place on continuous/indefinite reserve.
- Please do not assign reserve readings until you are sure that
your material has been processed!
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the reserve desk
at x8129. Thank you for your cooperation.
