Abstracts historical journals covering topics on the United States
and Canada. This abstracting service uses the generic term
Indians for all Native Americans in its indexing. Histories of
individual tribes can also be searched as well as Native American topics
such as the Indians Claims Commission and the Pequot War
or individuals like Samson Occom.
The American Humanities Index is a collection of bibliographic
references to literary, scholarly and creative journals published in the
United States and Canada.
The Human Relations Area Files (HRAF) is a cross-cultural resource
that contains over 350,000 pages of information on all aspects of
cultural and social life. It comes in 4 formats:

This is a multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text
for more than 3,600 scholarly publications, including more than 2,700
peer-reviewed publications.
Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal,
medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search
options.
The New York Times (1851-2003) offers full page and article images with
searchable full text back to the first issue. The collection includes
digital reproductions providing access to every page from every available
issue.
Provides full-text of locally-written articles from 1995 to present
can be searched, emailed, or downloaded from the Providence Journal
Index database. Indexing for the
Providence Journal from 1983 to the present is available on the
journal's own web site. Selected pre-1986 articles have been indexed by
the Providence Public Library for
