Printing

  • What does it cost? 10 cents per page (the same as a photocopy)
  • How to pay? You pay with a photocopy card or an activated student ID. The photocopy card can be purchased for $1.00 from the vending machine in the Microforms/Photocopiers Area. (The card will have a value of $1.00 to which you can add more money). Your student id card can be activated at Campus Card Office in the Student Union. Both these cards will also work in the photocopy machines.
  • Where is the printer? It is located half-way between the Reference Desk and the photocopiers, facing the public research computers (3rd floor)
  • How does it work?
    1. Select print on the computer (as you would on any computer).
    2. In the pop up window, click PRINT to continue. ("Hold Client" is the correct printer).
    3. In the next window:
      • Job Name: identifies the document to be printed
      • User ID: replace the computer name (e.g., adamspub09) with a name of your choice. You will use this name to access your print job(s) at the printer release station.
      • Click PRINT to send your document to the print queue
    4. Go to the printer release station and insert your photocopy card or activated student ID to release your print jobs. You will be asked for the username you entered above to see your print jobs.
    5. Select the print jobs you wish to print. The display will show you the number of pages in a given print job, how much it will cost, and how much money you will have left on your card after the job is sent to print.
Important: If you have only $1.00 on your card and you have a print job that costs $2.00, it will not print any of your print job.
The library is not responsible for printouts left at the printer.
