How To Apply
Rhode Island College is an exclusive member of the Common Application. All students applying for undergraduate admission must complete the Common Application and Rhode Island College supplement. This includes freshmen, transfers, second degree students, readmits and international applicants.
Freshmen
- A completed Common Application and RIC Supplement. This includes the required 250-word college essay and $50 nonrefundable application fee. The Common Application may be completed/printed online at www.commonapp.org.
- Official high school transcripts and School (Guidance) Counselor Recommendation
- Official scores on the SAT or ACT with ACT Writing Test

Home-Schooled Students
Home-schooled students should submit transcripts from an accredited correspondence school, plus any transcript(s) showing earned college credit (if applicable).
Those whose curriculum is not provided by an accredited correspondence school, must submit scores on any three of the following SAT Subject Tests: Literature, American or World History, Math Level C, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or any foreign language. In lieu of SAT Subject tests, these students may submit scores on the GED (minimum score of 50 is required). The admissions decision will be based primarily on test scores.
