Tadeisha Jones '16, of Providence, RI, is an enthusiastic member of the RIC community, and is profoundly thankful for the Alumni Scholarship that is helping her to be here. An honor roll student at her high school, the Academy for Career Exploration, Tadeisha was an active volunteer with the LEAD program at Central High School. She plans to keep up her volunteer efforts here and is currently exploring RIC's many opportunities.

Frank & Agnes Campbell Scholarship
Criteria: Incoming freshman who plans to pursue a career in teaching. Applicant must be entering as a full-time freshman (12 or more credit hours). Preference is given to Rhode Island residents. Applicant must rank in the top 25% of their high school graduation class and indicate education as their intended curriculum.
Award: Past awards have ranged from $750-$1,500.
2017 Rhode Island College Alumni Association Scholarships
RIC Alumni Scholarship: The RIC Alumni Scholarship is awarded to full-time enrolled undergraduate student; completing freshman, sophomore, or junior year; RIC cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher; award based on GPA and essay. Attach a typed personal statement (minimum 250 words) describing your Rhode Island College experience thus far and what the scholarship would mean to you. Past awards have ranged from $250 - $2000. Please note that you will also be evaluated by the committee on your involvement with school activities and/or employment and community service.
RIC Alumni Children Academic Award: The RIC Alumni Children Academic Award is awarded to a child or grandchild of a RIC graduate, enrolled full-time in the College for 2017-2018 academic year. Up to three awards annually are awarded and are based on highest RIC GPA of applicants: one to a freshman returning as a sophomore in the fall of 2017 (approximately 30 credits earned); one to a sophomore returning as a junior in the fall of 2017 (approximately 60 credits earned); one to a junior returning in the fall of 2017 as a senior (approximately 90 credits or more earned). If there is a tie, the committee will look at credit hours attempted, earned, etc. Awards are $4000. Because only three awards are given you are encouraged to apply for alumni scholarship also (first category). The award for a senior (with approximately 90 credits or more earned) can only be given once in a student’s academic career. Please note that no essay is required and the supportive information i.e. involvement with school activities, employment and community service is not required for this particular scholarship.
RIC Noreen Ackerman ’80 Scholarship: The RIC Noreen Ackerman ’80 Scholarship was established by past alumni association president Noreen Ackerman ’80. The applicant must be a Rhode Island resident and must be accepted as a full time undergraduate student entering sophomore, junior or senior year. Awards based on a minimum GPA of 3.0. The successful candidate will be selected based on the above criteria and completion of an essay. This scholarship was established with the philosophy that once given an opportunity, an individual should find a means of giving back. Attach a typed essay (maximum of 500 words): if you were given this scholarship, what would you intend to "give back" of your time, talent or resources to your college or the community at large? Award is $1,300. Please note that you will also be evaluated by the committee on your involvement with school activities and/or employment and community service.
RIC Alumni Graduate Award: The RIC Alumni Graduate Award is awarded to an applicant with a bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College and must be accepted as a full-time graduate student in a RIC Master's degree program (9 credit hours or more). Graduate assistants are not eligible to apply. Award based on RIC GPA and essay. Attach a typed essay including your goals and why this scholarship would be beneficial to you. Include in the essay your current graduate program, number of credits earned and date of undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College. Past awards have ranged from $500-$1500. Please note that you will also be evaluated by the committee on your involvement with school activities and/or employment and community service.
