Scholarships

The Alumni Association is proud to offer merit based scholarships to our students. Over 100 thousand dollars in scholarship aid was awarded to over 140 student applicants.

Scholarship applications and the criteria for the awards for the 2010-2011 academic year are available to download below. If you wish to pick up an application in person, please visit the Alumni Office located on the lower level of Roberts Hall next to the office of Human Resources. If you have questions, please contact us at 401-456-8086 or alumni@ric.edu.

The deadline for scholarship applications is June 1, 2010.

Applicants for scholarships will not be discriminated against because of race, sex, age, handicap, marital status, religion, national origin, creed or political affiliation. A sub-committee of the Alumni Board selects the winner.

Alumni Scholarships are made possible through the generosity of the many donors to our Annual Fund.

The RICochet Fund

The Rhode Island College Alumni Assocaiton is also proud to support an emergency Financial Assistance fund, the RICochet fund.

The Rhode Island College Alumni Association established the RICochet fund in December of 1994 to assist students with financial emergencies so that they may remain in school. Grants of up to $1000 are made to cover such emergencies as educational expenses (tuition, books, educational supplies), health, housing, child care, etc. Any matriculated student may apply (graduate, undergraduate, part-time, full-time).

The grants do not require repayment. However, students who apply for assistance from the RICochet Fund are expected to donate two hours of volunteer service to the Alumni Association for each $100 requested and approved.

Applications are made on a "rolling" basis and decisions are typically made 7-10 days after the application is submitted

Please contact the Alumni Office at 401-456-8086 for further information.
