Dave Cranshaw '05
|
Mike Montecalvo ’84 anchors newscasts on WPRI-12 and FOX Providence. He has earned more than 45 community service and Associated Press awards and has multiple Emmy nominations for his work as a journalist. He also has helped raise millions of dollars for local charities. |
Channavy Chhay ’01 is executive director of the Socio-Economic Development Center for Southeast Asians in Providence, R.I. Her organization provides services to 1,250 clients annually, including youth, family and elderly support; a meal site; health care advocacy; citizenship, ESL and GED classes; volunteer income tax clinics; and the International Language Bank. |
Dave Cranshaw ’05 is senior writer and editor at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. He is active with the Rhode Island College Young Alumni Group. He received a Presidential Scholarship while at RIC, and he co-founded the Communications Club on campus. Cranshaw also was active in the American Democracy Project and volunteered on several political campaigns. |

Mary M. Sullivan is director of the Rhode Island STEM Center at Rhode Island College, where she also is a professor of mathematics in the math and computer science department and a member of the department of educational studies. Sullivan is on the board of directors of the Triangle Coalition for STEM Education and a member of numerous professional associations. |
Carol (Benedetti) Peck, clerk secretary at the Rhode Island College School of Nursing, oversees all office duties in the School of Nursing and responds to the needs of faculty, staff, students and parents. Peck has helped the School of Nursing raise $150,000 for the Dean’s Development Fund over the past six years. |

Patricia “Patti” (Horan) Doyle ’84, a partner and executive vice president with the RDW Group, a public relations firm in Providence, R.I., donated her services to help promote and win passage of Question 3, the 2012 bond referendum that provides Rhode Island College with $50 million to renovate, modernize and expand three buildings on campus. |
Richard J. Walton,1928-2012, was an adjunct faculty member at Rhode Island College for 28 years. He also was president of the RIC Adjunct Faculty Union, which he helped found. Walton was an active volunteer and fundraiser for Amos House, the George Wiley Center, Stone Soup Coffee House and the Sister Cities Project between Providence and Niquinohomo, Nicaragua. |
