25 April 2005 - Dr. Lois Stover Speaks at Rhode Island College
On Monday, April 25, 2005, Dr. Lois Stover spoke at Rhode Island College in the second annual ASTAL Lecture. Her discussion was entitled "Young Adult Literature: Looking to the Past with Hope for the Future."
Dr. Stover, a leading authority in the field of Adolescent Literature and English Education, is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. In addition to being a highly regarded presenter at national, regional, and state conferences, she has published over 60 professional journal articles, book reviews, and monographs. Her books include the following:
12 April 2005 - Author Joyce Hansen Speaks at Rhode Island College
On Tuesday, April 12, 2005, Joyce Hansen spoke at Rhode Island College in the Faculty Dining Center. She is the author of Freedom Roads, Dear America: I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly, Which Way Freedom, Yellowbird and Me, among other award-winning works of both fiction and nonfiction.
04 April 2005 - Author Patricia McCormick Speaks at Rhode Island College
On Monday, April 4, 2005, Patricia McCormick spoke at Rhode Island College in the Faculty Dining Center. She is the author of the highly regarded YA novel, Cut. Her second novel, My Brother's Keeper will be published Spring 2005.
