Heather Pettigrew enters her second season as the assistant women's basketball coach at Rhode Island College. Pettigrew assists Head Coach Spencer Manning with all phases of the RIC women’s basketball program including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.

In her only season with Rhode Island College in 2003-04, the Cranston, Rhode Island native made an immediate impact as the Anchorwomen posted a 16-11 overall record, including a 7-7 mark within the Little East Conference. The team was 3-23 the season prior to her arrival. A starter in 12 of 27 games, she finished second on the team in points (254), rebounds (181), assists (39), and steals (52). A versatile forward, Pettigrew recorded three double-doubles. A consistent scoring threat, Pettigrew reached double digits in scoring in 11 games, including a 16-point effort to lead the Anchorwomen to a 54-46 victory against Western Connecticut State in the quarterfinal round of the Little East Tournament. She also ranked seventh in the conference in total rebounds, including pulling down 74 in the offensive end.

Prior to joining the Anchorwomen, Pettigrew thrived in her two seasons at the Community College of Rhode Island. A two-time First-Team All-England selection, she left CCRI as the Knights’ fifth all-time leading scorer (700 points).

She earned a bachelor’s degree in management in technology from Rhode Island College in 2006. In addition to her coaching duties, Pettigrew is working at Federal Electronics.
