Barrette enters her first year as the head women’s tennis coach
at Rhode Island College. She takes over for Kelly Chartier who
stepped down earlier this winter. |

Barrette starred for the Anchorwomen from 2002-05
and received the Helen M. Murphy Award, signifying her as RIC’s
top senior female student-athlete in 2006. She finished her
career at RIC with a 43-18 (.705) career singles record and a
50-15 (.796) career doubles mark for 68.0 career points.
Barrette is third all-time at RIC in career points, third in
career singles wins and tied for first in career doubles wins.

As a senior in 2005, Barrette was the Little East
Conference Champion at number one doubles. She was 11-3 (.786)
at number one singles and 19-2 (.882) at number one doubles for
18.5 points on the season. She was tied for second on the team
in singles wins, tied for first on the team in doubles wins and
third in total points. While teaming up with freshman Megan
Hall, the 15 doubles wins established a new RIC single-season
record. Barrette was named Little East Conference Player of the
Week once on the season and was named the team’s MVP. |

As a junior in 2004, she was 10-5 (.667) at
number one singles and 9-6 (.600) at number one doubles for 14.5
points on the season. Barrette was third on the team in singles
wins and points and was tied for third in doubles victories. |

|
As a sophomore in 2003, Barrette
was 12-5 (.706) at number one singles and 13-4
(.765) at number one doubles for a team-high 18.5 points on the
season. Barrette was tied for the team lead in singles wins. |
|
|
|
As a freshman in 2002, she
was the Little East Conference Champion at number
one doubles. Barrette was 10-5 (.667) at number one singles and
13-3 (.813) at number one doubles for a total of 16.5 points on
the season. |

|
|
Barrette also played two seasons of basketball
for the Anchorwomen.
|
|
She a bachelor’s degree in physical
education/health from Rhode Island College in 2006. Barrette
also holds an endorsement in adaptive physical education. |
|
|
|
In addition to her coaching duties, Barrette is
currently a physical education and health teacher at Austin T.
Levy Primary School in Burrillville. |
|
|
|
She is single and resides in North Providence. |
