Providence, RI—Rhode Island College stemmed a three-match losing streak with a convincing 3-0 victory over WPI on Wednesday evening. RIC improves to 2-4 overall and the Engineers fall to 1-5 on the year.

Amanda Yanski and Stacy Archambault paced RIC’s offense with 12 and seven kills respectively. Mia Shaffer had 16 assists and ten digs. Jillian Krebs had 11 assists and six digs.

WPI’s Lee Helberg had 12 kills, three service aces and two blocks in a losing effort. Pam Comey was a bright spot as well with 14 digs, six kills and two service aces.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at a Little East Conference round robin, hosted by Eastern Connecticut, on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20-21.
