RIC TAKES TWO FROM HAWKS
Providence, RI—Rhode Island College improved to 8-6 by sweeping a doubleheader, 2-1, 5-3, from Roger Williams University in collegiate softball action. The losses drop RWU to 1-8 on the season.
Sue Gaber scored on an error to push RIC past the Hawks 2-1 in the first game. Kim Warrington improved to 6-4, hurling seven innings and striking out nine to pick up the victory.
RIC broke the second game of the twin-bill open in the third inning with four runs. Michele Fanelli went 2-2 with one run and one RBI. Casey Soares relieved Warrington in the second and picked up her second win (2-1) of the year.
In upcoming action, RIC will host LEC rival Southern Maine on Saturday, Mar. 29.
