Rhode Island College Spring Men’s Golf Update #1

(0-3 Overall; 0-0 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach John Fitta’s Anchormen kicked off the 2003 spring season at home against Worcester State and WPI on Mar. 26. Worcester State went 2-0 with a score of 244. WPI was 1-1 with a score of 262 and RIC was 0-2 with a team total of 273. The match was scored using the three lowest scores from each squad. RIC hosted Nichols College on Apr. 2 and fell to the Bison 363-348 to round out the week’s action.

Junior Ken Ferrara (North Providence, RI) fired a score of 88 in both matches last week. He posted the team’s lowest score in the loss to Nichols.

Senior Joe Padykula (Seekonk, MA) shot a team-low score of 84 vs. Worcester State/WPI. He shot a 96 in the loss to Nichols. Padykula is averaging a score of 90 on the season.

Freshman Sean DeSilva (West Warwick, RI) shot a 101 vs. Worcester State/WPI and a 90 vs. Nichols. He is averaging a score of 95.5 on the season.

Junior Brian Schimmel (Cumberland, RI) shot a score of 89 vs. Nichols in his first action of the season.

In upcoming action, RIC will host Wentworth tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
