Rhode Island College Women’s Outdoor Track Update # 2

Providence, RI-- Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team hosted the RIC Invitational on Apr. 6. RIC placed fifth with a score of 51. Bentley College won the meet with a score of 99. 14 teams took part in the meet.

Sophomore Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 60.60. She placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 27.10.

Freshman Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI) placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 12.80. She placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 67.60.

Sophomore Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14’09.50”. She placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 32’00.00”.

Sophomore Jessica Leonard (Warwick, RI) placed third in the hammer with a distance of 37.73 meters. Senior Joanne Pora (Attleboro, MA) placed sixth in the hammer with a distance of 29.52 meters.

Freshman Kim Cadden (Warwick, RI) placed tenth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:36.70.

Freshman Allison DeRoy (Smithfield, RI) placed 22nd in the discus with a distance of 12.18 meters.

Freshman Rebecca Horton (Seekonk, MA) placed 23rd in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:38.80.

Freshman Bridget Hjerpe (Cranston, RI) placed 20th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:28.00.

Freshman Dana Schmidt (North Scituate) placed 18th in the 200 meters with a time of 31.50.

Freshman Tiffany Kirch (Hope, RI) placed 20th in the 200 meters with a time of 34.50.
