Rhode Island College Women’s Outdoor Track Update #3

Providence, RI-- Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Bridgewater State Invitational on Sunday, Apr. 13.  There were no team scores kept at the meet.

Sophomore Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) placed first in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.53. She placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 27.13.

Freshman Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI) placed fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.25. She placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.97.

Sophomore Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) placed third in the long jump with a leap of 15’08.50”. She placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 32’02.50”.

Senior Joanne Pora (Attleboro, MA) placed sixth in the hammer with a distance of 112’03.00”. She placed sixth in the javelin with a distance of 99’04.00”.

Freshman Allison DeRoy (Smithfield, RI) placed 14th in the discus with a distance of 48’01.00”. She placed tenth in the hammer with a distance of 76’01.00”.

Sophomore Rebecca Horton (Seekonk, MA) placed 17th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:45.62.

Freshman Dana Schmidt (North Scituate) placed 13th in the 200 meters with a time of 32.54.

Freshman Tiffany Kirch (Hope, RI) placed 14th in the 200 meters with a time of 34.64.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the Northeastern Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 19.
