RIC HANGS ON TO BEAT BECKER 18-16 |
|
Providence, RI—Rhode Island
College held off a eighth inning rally by Becker College to defeat the
Hawks, 18-16 ,in collegiate baseball action. RIC improves to 16-15-1,
while the loss drops Becker to 8-16-1. |

RIC starting pitcher Glenn
Dusablon improved his record to 2-2, striking out two over five
innings of work. Dan Furtado came on in the eighth, and pitched
a scoreless ninth to earn his third save. First baseman Eric Gibree
went 4-5 with three runs, three RBI, a double and a triple. Left
fielder Matt Brannon went 3-5 with one run, seven RBI and
clouted his second home run in the win. |

Becker starting pitcher Dan
Robinson was saddled with the loss, falling to 3-3. Ryan
Baillargeron went 5-6 with three runs and one RBI in a losing
effort. |
