RIC Softball Selected to Play in ECAC Div. III Championships
Providence, RI—The Rhode Island College softball team has been selected to play in the eight-team ECAC Div. III Championships for the third time in the past five seasons. RIC is the four seed and will host fifth-seeded and LEC rival, Southern Maine on Wednesday, May 7.
The Anchorwomen went 21-13-1 on the season and posted their best-ever conference mark, finishing second with a 9-4-1 record. 2003 also marked the fifth consecutive season that RIC has posted 20 or more wins. Last year RIC lost in the finals to Fitchburg State, 1-0.
RIC is one of four Little East teams in the tournament along with Southern Maine and Eastern Connecticut. Springfield College is the number one seed.
