Eastern Connecticut Senior Leads Warriors Past RIC
Providence, RI—Senior back Ryan Smith (Madison, CT) scored two goals to lead Eastern Connecticut to a 3-1 victory over Rhode Island College in Little East Conference men’s soccer action.
Freshman forward Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) scored the lone goal for the Anchormen, who fell to 11-8 on the season and 2-5 in Little East play.
Freshman forward Jarod Groat (Middletown, CT) added the third goal for the Warriors, who improved to 8-9-1 on the year and 3-4 in LEC action.
This was the last regular season game for both clubs. RIC is in contention for an ECAC Tournament bid. The Anchormen will find out if they are selected on Monday, Nov. 11.
