BARTUNEK’S THREE SEALS WIN FOR ECSU |

Providence, RI—Steve Bartunek nailed a clutch three-point basket with 59 seconds remaining in the game to give Eastern Connecticut State University a 63-60 win in collegiate basketball action. ECSU’s Gordon Shepard made a crucial free throw with 14 seconds left to seal the victory. |

The Anchormen had two three-point attempts as time expired, but were unable to tie the game and force overtime. Shepard had 13 points and five boards. Mike Kipphut had 12 points and nine rebounds. |
||||||
|
RIC was led by Andre Daley’s 21 points and Jason Harris’ nine rebounds. |
||||||
|
The win for the Warriors snaps a fourth-place tie in the Little East with the Anchormen. ECSU improves to 6-11 overall and 4-3 in the LEC. RIC drops its second consecutive LEC game and falls to 10-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference. |

In upcoming action, RIC will host UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday, Jan. 28. |
