Rhode Island College Women’s Basketball Update #12

(3-22 Overall, 1-13 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Mike Kelley’s team is 3-22 overall and 1-13 in the Little East Conference. RIC fell to UMass-Dartmouth, 62-53, on Feb. 18 and Plymouth State, 79-56, on Feb. 22.

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will play at Southern Maine on Feb. 25 in the opening round of the Little East Conference Tournament. RIC is the eighth seed in the tournament, while the Huskies are the number one seed. USM swept the regular season series from the Anchorwomen (2-0).

Junior guard Angela Sarette (Putnam, CT) has played in 23 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

Junior forward Liz Shields (Warwick, RI) has played in 24 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game.

Junior guard Abby Ferri (Greene, RI) has played in 25 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Sophomore forward Becca Bissonnette (Danielson, CT) has played in 25 games, starting all of them. She is averaging 7.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Liz Barrette (North Providence, RI) has played in 25 games. She is averaging 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Stacy Archambault (Woonsocket, RI) has played in 24 games, starting 20 of them. She is averaging 2.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.  Archambault severely injured her knee vs. UMass-Dartmouth is will miss the remainder of the season.

Senior guard Alicia Hersperger (Providence, RI) has played in 25 games, starting five of them. She is averaging 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Freshman guard Lynn Bertherman (Slatersville, RI) has played in 24 games. She is averaging 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward Betsy Bliven (Charlestown, RI) has played in 17 games, starting three of them. She is averaging 1.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Bliven was lost for the season when she injured her knee two weeks ago.
