Rhode
Island College’s J.O. White Named Second Team All-Little East
|
|
|
|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior forward Johnafer White (Boston,
MA)
has been named a Second Team All-Star by the Little East Conference
for his performance in men’s basketball this season.
|
|
|
|
White played in
24 games, starting 21 of them. He averaged 13.7 points, 8.4 rebounds,
1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He logged nine double-doubles on
the year (points and rebounds). White recorded a season-high 26 points
vs. UMass-Dartmouth on Jan. 28 and 18 rebounds vs. Southern Maine on
Jan. 14. |

He transferred
into RIC this year after spending two seasons at Roxbury Community
College. He is a management major and a 1998 graduate of West Roxbury
High School. |

Head Coach
Michael Kelly’s Anchormen finished the season with a 13-13 overall
record and a 5-9 (seventh place) mark in the Little East Conference.
RIC was eliminated from the Little East Tournament with a 90-75 loss
at Plymouth State College on Tuesday, Feb. 25. |
