Furtado and Peer to Captain
Rhode Island College Baseball |

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College seniors Dan Furtado (East Providence, RI) and
Brian Peer (Windsor, CT) will captain the baseball team for the
2003 season. |
|
|
|
As a junior
pitcher in 2002, Furtado appeared in 12 games. He was 0-2 with an 8.84
ERA and 12 strikeouts in 19.1 innings pitched. |
|
|
|
He is a
criminal justice major and a 1999 graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High
School. |
|
|
|
As a junior
infielder in 2002, Peer played in 19 games, starting 15 of them. He
batted .300 with nine runs, 18 hits, three doubles and seven RBI. He
owned a .350 slugging percentage, a .344 on-base percentage and a .816
fielding percentage. |

|
|
He is a justice
studies major and a 1998 graduate of Windsor High School. |
|
|
|
Head Coach
Jay Grenier’s team is currently 6-4, having defeated Coast Guard
4-3 yesterday afternoon. |
