Parenteau, Puleo and Rudd to Captain
Rhode Island College Men’s Outdoor Track and Field |
|

|
Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College sophomore Joe Parenteau (Smithfield,
RI),
along with seniors Chris Puleo (Barrington,
RI)
and Tim Rudd (Warwick,
RI)
will captain the men’s outdoor track and field team for
the 2003 season. |
|
|
|
As a freshman
in 2002, Parenteau placed seventh in the 1,500 meters and 19th
in the 800 meters with season-best times of 4:10.14 and 2:08.46
respectively at the Alliance Championships. |
|
|
|
He is a
physical education major and a 2001 graduate of Smithfield High
School. |
|
|
|
Puleo sat out
the 2002 season as a redshirt. As a junior in 2001, he was named
All-Alliance/Little East as part of the 4 x 100 meter relay team,
which placed sixth, with a time of 47.92 at the Alliance
Championships. He registered a season-best time of 55.07 in the 400
meters at the Silfen Invitational. |

He is a
criminal justice major and a 1998 graduate of Barrington High School. |
|
|
|
As a junior in
2002, Rudd placed 17th as part of the 4 x 400 meter relay
team with a time of 3:37.36 at the ECAC Div. III Championships. Rudd
earned All-Alliance/Little East honors as part of the 4 x 400 meter
relay team, which placed sixth with a time of 3:35.24 at the Alliance
Championships. He also earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the
1,500 meters, placing third with a time of 4:05.34. |

political science major and a 1999 graduate of Pilgrim High School. |
