ANCHORMEN DOWN SEAHAWKS 7-3
|

Providence, RI—Rhode Island
College pitcher John Botelho allowed only four-hits and struck
out eight batters to lead the Anchormen to a 7-3 victory over Salve
Regina University. Botelho gave up three runs in the first inning and
closed the door on the Seahawks, hurling seven scoreless innings to
earn his second win of the season. |

Eric Gibree’s two-run home
run in the third inning pulled RIC to within one. The Anchormen tied
the contest at 3-3 in the fifth on Matt Brannon’s fielder’s choice
RBI. RIC erupted for three runs in the seventh, scoring the go-ahead
run on Mike Naylor’s RBI single. Adolfo Perez homered in
the eighth to cap the victory. |

loss for Salve Regina. |

In upcoming
action, RIC will play a doubleheader at Clark University on Saturday,
