Providence, RI—Salve Regina University earned its first win of the 2003 season with a 15-0 shutout over Rhode Island College. The Seahawks improve to 1-3, while the loss drops RIC to 0-1.
Jennifer O’Brien had three goals and two assists to lead all scorers. Laurie Rizzotti also tallied three times in the win. Meagen Brown had a goal and two assists. Goalkeepers Gabbie Morin and Brook Bowley combined to post the shutout with seven and three saves respectively.
RIC netminder Kristin Mandsager made nine saves in a losing effort.
In upcoming action, RIC will play at Lasell on Thursday, Mar. 27.
