RIC Rookie Duo Engineers Victory Over MIT
Providence, RI—RIC freshman sensation Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) scored two goals with an assist for five points leading the Anchormen to a 3-2 victory over MIT.
Freshman Josh Braga (Fall River, MA) scored the other goal for RIC. Teixeira has nine goals and four assists for 22 points in six games this season.
It was the fifth consecutive win for the Anchormen, who started the season 0-2. RIC has not lost since Sept. 8 at Vassar (3-2). RIC goalkeeper Jason Nelson (Pascoag, RI) made ten saves in the win.
Doug Allaire (Sanford, ME) and Nick Nestle (Ormond Beach, FL) scored for MIT in a losing effort.
In upcoming action, RIC will host Salve Regina on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m.
