Westfield State Notches First Win
Providence, RI—Jess Silva (Reading, MA) scored a pair of goals to give Westfield State College its first victory of the season, 3-0, over Rhode Island College.
Carly Czubryt (Adams, MA) added the final goal in the 86th minute. The win snapped a five-game winless streak for the Owls (1-4-1) while the Anchorwomen (3-4) dropped their third straight contest.
Owls’ goalkeeper Natalia Araszkiewicz (Framingham, MA) made three saves to earn the shutout.
In upcoming action, RIC will play at Southern Maine on Saturday, Sept. 28.
