Anchorwomen Rally To Defeat Clark,
3-2
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College defeated Clark University, 3-2 (13-30, 29-31, 30-26,
30-25, 15-7), at home on Oct. 9. The Cougars breezed through the first
two games, but dropped the next three in a great comeback for the
Anchorwomen. The victory, RIC’s fifth straight, improves the
Anchorwomen’s record to 10-9 while Clark now falls to 2-12. |

RIC was led
by freshman middle hitter Erin Miga (Cranston, RI) who posted a
match-high 18 kills. Miga also contributed two digs and three blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter Kristy Nix (East Setauket, NY)
contributed 14 kills, three service aces, four digs and one block
assist. Freshman setter Kara Sarcione (Londonderry, NH) aided
the comeback with a well-rounded match, notching a match-high 50
assists, 14 digs, two service aces and one block assist. Defensively,
sophomore libero Sara Chamberland (Coventry, RI) had 12 digs,
while freshman middle hitter Kari Geisler (Derry, NH)
and sophomore right side hitter Stephanie Wojciechowski (North
Kingstown, RI) added 11 and 10 digs, respectfully. |

Leading the
way for Clark was sophomore middle blocker Kara Seimeca (Haworth,
NJ) who had a team-high 15 kills. Freshmen setter
Tiffany Ong (San Francisco, CA) recorded a team-high 24 assists. |

|
In upcoming
action, the Anchorwomen will play at Eastern Nazarene College on
Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. |
