Carminda Rocha Earns
Little East Women’s Tennis Honor |
|
|
Providence, RI—Rhode Island
College senior Carminda Rocha (East Providence, RI)
was named the Little East
Conference’s Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.

Rocha went 2-0 in both number
two singles and doubles action this past week. With her singles
victories over Clark on Oct. 9 and UMass-Boston on Oct. 11, she now
has 51 for her career, which makes her RIC’s all-time singles wins
leader. Rocha needs just one more point to become RIC’s all-time
leader in that category. On the season, she is 9-1 (.900) at number
two singles and 7-2 (.778) at number two doubles for 12.5 points. This
week’s player of the week award is the second such honor for Rocha
this year. |

Rocha is a music education
major and a 2000 graduate of East Providence High School. |

Head Coach
Kelly Lange’s
team is 9-4 (4-0 LEC) on the
season. In upcoming action, RIC will travel to Plymouth State on Oct.
17-18 for the Little East Championships and close out the season at
home against Roger Williams on Oct. 20. |
