Providence, RI—The Rhode Island College Anchorwomen
dropped a close contest, 1-0, to Little East Conference foe
Plymouth State University in collegiate women’s soccer action.
Plymouth State surged down the field to start the game and caught
a break when a RIC player accidentally tipped a ball into their
own net. |

|
After that quick goal and a 1-0 deficit, RIC proceeded to control
play the rest of the afternoon, outshooting the Panthers 18-8, but
could not get the ball past Plymouth State goaltenders Beth
McAloon (Bedford, NH) and Hayley Quinones (Waitsfield, VT).

RIC junior goalkeeper Melissa Carpentier (Woonsocket, RI)
made five saves in a losing effort, while McAloon and Quinones
split time making five and one save, respectively. |

With the victory, Plymouth State improves its record to 10-5-1,
5-2 while RIC drops to 6-11-1, 2-4-1. In upcoming action, RIC will
