Kim
Warrington Earns Little East Softball Pitcher of the Week Honors |
|
|
Providence, RI—Rhode Island
College senior Kim Warrington (North Kingstown, RI)
was named the Little East Conference
Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.
|
|
|
|
In a doubleheader sweep of
Babson College on Mar. 30, Warrington pitched a complete game shutout
in the first game and got the save in the second. She struck out ten
batters and gave up just three hits in game one en route to her third
consecutive victory. In the second game, she recorded the final four
outs to record her second save of the season. On the year, Warrington
has played in 12 games, starting eight of them. She is batting .286
with eight hits, three runs, five RBI and two home runs. Warrington
owns a .500 slugging percentage, a .333 on-base percentage and a .947
fielding percentage. On the mound, Warrington has appeared in 13
games, starting eight of them. She owns a 4-4 record with a 2.57 ERA
and two saves. In 60 innings pitched, she has struck out a team-high
79 batters. |

She is an elementary/special
education major and a 2000 graduate of North Kingstown High School. |

|
Head Coach Maria Morin’s
team is currently 8-8 overall and 1-1 in the Little East Conference.
In upcoming action, RIC will host Worcester State (DH) on Wednesday,
Apr. 7, play at Salve Regina (DH) on Thursday, Apr. 8 and host UMass-Boston
(DH) on Saturday, Apr. 10. |
