Coach Jay Grenier's team is 9-9 overall and 0-5 in the Little
East Conference. In five contests last week, the Anchormen came away
with a 2-0 non-conference record and an 0-3 LEC mark. RIC opened the
week with home victories over Becker, 13-8, on Apr. 7 and Coast Guard,
8-3, on Apr. 8. The Anchormen then dropped a close contest, 4-3, at
UMass-Dartmouth on Apr. 8 before being swept at Keene State, 15-8 and
10-2, in a conference doubleheader. |

Senior
first baseman Eric Gibree (Bristol, RI) has played in 15 games,
starting 14 of them. He became Rhode Island College’s all-time leader
in career hits (158) in the victory over Becker. Gibree is batting
.395 with 17 hits, two doubles, one home run, five walks, five runs
scored and eight RBI. Gibree owns a .512 slugging percentage, a .460
on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage. |

Junior
outfielder/pitcher Brandon White (Foster, RI) has played in
seven games, starting five of them. He is batting a team-best .455
with ten hits, one double, three walks, six runs scored and five RBI.
White owns a .500 slugging percentage, a team-high .538 on-base
percentage and a .974 fielding percentage. On the mound, White has
appeared in five games, starting four of them. He owns a 1-2 record
with a 6.95 ERA. In 22.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 23
batters. |

outfielder Chris Higgins (Swansea, MA) has played in 18 games,
starting all of them. He is batting .365 while leading the team with
27 hits, three triples, four home runs, 25 RBI, 22 runs scored and a
.689 slugging percentage. Higgins also has six doubles, seven walks, a
.422 on-base percentage and a .882 fielding percentage. |

Junior
pitcher/outfielder Glenn Dusablon (North Smithfield, RI) has
played in 16 games, starting all of them. He is batting .339 with 21
hits, three doubles, one home run, nine walks, 20 runs scored and ten
RBI. Dusablon owns a .435 slugging percentage, a .419 on-base
percentage and a .975 fielding percentage. On the mound, Dusablon has
appeared in and started two games. He owns a 2-0 record with a 3.94
ERA. In 16.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 12 batters. |

first baseman/pitcher Matt Brannon (Cranston, RI) has played in
13 games, starting all of them. He is batting .362 with 17 hits, three
doubles, one home run, three walks, nine runs scored and nine RBI.
Brannon owns a .489 slugging percentage, a .411 on-base percentage and
a .990 fielding percentage. On the mound, Brannon has appeared in six
games, starting five of them. He owns a 2-3 record with a 6.95 ERA. In
29.0 innings pitched, he has struck out a team-high 25 batters. |

shortstop Ray De La Cruz (Pawtucket, RI) has played in 17
games, starting all of them. He is batting .366 with 26 hits, two

.869 fielding percentage. |

games, starting one of them. He is batting .600 with three hits, two

In upcoming
action, the Anchormen are scheduled to play eight games in the next
seven days. RIC will first have a three-game home stand versus UMass-Dartmouth
on Tuesday, Apr. 13 at 3:30 p.m., then a doubleheader versus Roger
Williams on Wednesday, Apr. 14 at 1:30 p.m. RIC then travels to Salve
Regina for a single game on Thursday, Apr. 15 before returning home
for two doubleheaders, first versus Western Connecticut on Saturday,
Apr. 17 at noon and Thomas College on Sunday, Apr. 18 at noon. |
