Providence, RI--Head
Coach Maria Morin’s team is 14-8 overall and 3-1 in the Little
East Conference. The Anchorwomen had a perfect week going 6-0,
sweeping three doubleheaders. RIC defeated Salve Regina, 2-1 and 2-0,
on Apr. 6, Worcester State, 3-2 and 6-0, on Apr. 7, and LEC foe UMass-Boston,
5-4 and 10-1 (5 inn.), on Apr. 10. |

Freshman
pitcher Nicole Riley (North
Providence, RI)
has appeared in 13 games, starting 11 of them. She is batting a
team-best .400 with 12 hits, one double, one triple, one walk, four
runs scored and five RBI. Riley owns a .500 slugging percentage, a
team-high .419 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage. On
the mound, Riley has appeared in 13 games, starting 11 of them. She
owns a 7-4 record with a 1.52 ERA. In 64.2 innings pitched, she has
struck out 63 batters. Riley has won her last four decisions on the
mound. For her performance this week, she was named the Little East
Conference Softball Rookie of the Week. |

Senior
outfielder Sue Gaber (Colchester,
CT)
has played
in 22 games, starting all of them. She is batting .325 with 25 hits,
three doubles, five walks, a team-high 16 runs scored and six RBI.
Gaber has a .364 slugging percentage, a .361 on-base percentage and a
.938 fielding percentage. |

Senior
pitcher/designated player Kim Warrington (North
Kingstown, RI)
has played
in 16 games, starting 12 of them. She is batting .308 with 12 hits,
two doubles, two home runs, four walks, three runs and eight RBI.
Warrington owns a team-best .515 slugging percentage, a .372 on-base
percentage and a .958 fielding percentage. On the mound, Warrington
has appeared in 16 games, starting 11 of them. She owns a 7-4 record
with a 2.42 ERA. In 81.0 innings pitched, she has struck out a
team-high 104 batters. Warrington is now the RIC career leader in wins
with 49, eclipsing the previous mark of 44 set by Shana Willis ’98.

catcher/infielder Kristyn Alexander (East
Wareham, MA)
has played
in 22 games, starting all of them. She is batting .356 with a
team-high 26 hits, two doubles, two walks, seven runs scored, and a
team-best 12 RBI. Alexander owns a .384 slugging percentage, a .364
on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage. |

infielder Amy Machado (Newport,
RI)
has played
in 22 games, starting all of them. She is batting .313 with 21 hits,
three doubles, five walks, seven runs scored and five RBI. Machado
owns a .358 slugging percentage, a .370 on-base percentage and a .889

infielder Crystal O’Connell (Somerset,

percentage and a .840 fielding percentage. |

catcher Rachael Caldwell (Richmond,

in 21 games, starting all of them. She is batting .279 with 17 hits,

infielder Katelyn Labelle (South Dartmouth, MA) has played in
22 games, starting all of them. She is batting .184 with nine hits,
two doubles, a team-high nine walks, five runs scored and six RBI.

a .981 fielding percentage. |

infielder Alyssa Severino (Taunton, MA) has played in six
games, starting all of them. She is batting .167 with one hit.
Severino owns a .167 slugging percentage, a .167 on-base percentage
and a .857 fielding percentage. |

In upcoming
action, RIC will be on the road for three LEC doubleheaders. First the
Anchorwomen travel to UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday, Apr. 13, then to
Plymouth State on Saturday, Apr. 17 and finally to Southern Maine on
Sunday, Apr. 18. |
