Providence, RI--Head
Coach Jay Grenier's team is 13-14 overall and 2-8 in the Little
East Conference. In five contests last week, the Anchormen came away
with a 2-3 record. RIC opened the week with home losses to UMass-Dartmouth,
13-11, on Apr. 19 and Wheaton College, 11-4, on Apr. 20. The Anchormen
then traveled to fourth-ranked Eastern Connecticut and split a
doubleheader, 1-3 and 10-5. RIC closed out the week with a victory at
Rivier College, 13-0. |

Junior outfielder/pitcher Brandon White (Foster, RI) has played
in 14 games, starting 12 of them. He is batting a team-best .419 with
18 hits, two doubles, eight walks, three home runs, 12 runs scored and
12 RBI. White owns a team-high .674 slugging percentage, .519 on-base
percentage and a .985 fielding percentage. On the mound, White has
appeared in eight games, starting five of them. He owns a 1-3 record
with a 7.39 ERA. In 28.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 31
batters. |

Sophomore outfielder Mike Naylor (Warwick,
RI)
has played in 27 games, starting all of them. He is batting .386 with
39 hits, nine doubles, two triples, two home runs, three walks, 19
runs scored and 14 RBI. Naylor owns a .574 slugging percentage, a .418
on-base percentage and a .955 fielding percentage. |

Junior pitcher/outfielder Glenn Dusablon (North
Smithfield, RI)
has played in 25 games, starting all of them. He is batting .363 with
28 hits, six doubles, two home runs, ten walks, 28 runs scored and 20
RBI. Dusablon owns a .500 slugging percentage, a .417 on-base
percentage and a .982 fielding percentage. On the mound, Dusablon has
appeared in and started three games. He owns a 2-1 record with a 6.04
ERA. In 22.1 innings pitched, he has struck out 16 batters. |

Junior outfielder Chris Higgins (Swansea,
MA)
has played in 27 games, starting all of them. He is batting .360 while
leading the team with 40 hits, ten doubles, four triples, four home
runs, 30 RBI and 33 runs scored. Higgins also has ten walks, a .631
slugging percentage, a .411 on-base percentage and a .923 fielding
percentage. |

Junior first baseman/pitcher Matt Brannon (Cranston,
RI)
has played in 17 games, starting 15 of them. He is batting .351 with
20 hits, four doubles, two home runs, three walks, ten runs scored and
11 RBI. Brannon owns a .526 slugging percentage, a .394 on-base
percentage and a .984 fielding percentage. On the mound, Brannon has
appeared in eight games, starting seven of them. He owns a 3-4 record
with a 7.15 ERA. In 39.0 innings pitched, he has struck out a
team-high 40 batters. |

Sophomore shortstop Ray De La Cruz (Pawtucket,
RI)
has played in 25 games, starting all of them. He is batting .346 with
36 hits, four doubles, two triples, two home runs, five walks, 23 runs
scored and 13 RBI. De La Cruz owns a .481 slugging percentage, a .381
on-base percentage and a .895 fielding percentage. |

Junior pitcher Jim Milano (Johnston,
RI)
has appeared in nine games, starting six of them. He owns a 3-3 record
with a team-best 3.75 ERA. In 50.1 innings pitched, he has struck out
39 batters. Milano pitched eight innings, giving up five runs and
striking out four in RIC’s victory over fourth-ranked Eastern
Connecticut. |

Senior first baseman Eric Gibree (Bristol,
RI)
has played in 24 games, starting 23 of them. Gibree is batting .321
with 25 hits, six doubles, one home run, six walks, nine runs scored
and 11 RBI. Gibree owns a .436 slugging percentage, a .372 on-base
percentage and .979 fielding percentage. He became Rhode Island
College’s all-time leader in career hits (158) in the victory over
Becker on Apr. 4. |

Junior catcher Eric Kelly (Fall
River, MA)
has played in 18 games, starting 16 of them. He is batting .258 with
16 hits, four doubles, one home run, three walks, nine runs scored and
12 RBI. Kelly owns a .371 slugging percentage, a .309 on-base
percentage and a .989 fielding percentage. |

Junior pitcher Jeremy Edwards (Exeter,
RI)
has appeared in five games, starting two of them. He owns a 1-2 record
with a 4.66 ERA. In 19.1 innings pitched, he has struck 18 batters. |

Sophomore shortstop/second baseman Adolfo Perez (Miami,
FL)
has played in 19 games, starting 18 of them. He is batting .214 with
12 hits, six doubles, five walks, nine runs scored and five RBI. Perez
owns a .321 slugging percentage, a .286 on-base percentage and a .944
fielding percentage. |

Junior infielder Chris Smaldone (Johnston,

has appeared in one game at the plate. He is batting .500 with one hit
and one RBI. DeSousa owns a .500 slugging percentage and a .500
on-base percentage. On the mound, he has appeared in five games. He
owns a 0-0 record with a 9.00 ERA. In 6.0 innings pitched, he has

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will first have a four-game home
stand this week. They will welcome Clark University on Thursday, Apr.
29 and Bridgewater State on Friday Apr. 30 for single games before
hosting LEC foe Plymouth State for a doubleheader on Saturday, May 1. |
