ANCHORMEN DOWN WARRIORS, 94-69

Providence, RI—Senior guard Kamran Alemdar (Stockholm, Sweden)
scored a game-high 23 points as Rhode Island College defeated Eastern
Connecticut State University, 94-69, in collegiate men’s basketball
action. The Anchormen improve to 3-5 overall and earn their first
Little East Conference win. |

In
addition to Alemdar, four other Anchormen reached double figures in
scoring. Sophomore forward Brian Stanko (Swansea, MA) scored
17, freshman guard Kamari Williams (Springfield, MA) had 16,
senior guard Lester Carter (Boston, MA) had 12 and freshman
center Anthony Pierlioni (Plainville, CT) rounded out the top
five with ten points. Williams and sophomore guard K.C. Grandfield
(Dartmouth, MA) each had seven assists, while freshman center
Kevin Zalucki (Enfield, CT) had four blocks. |

Sophomore guard Kevin Kokoszka (Meriden, CT) and senior forward
Michael Kipphut (Meriden, CT) had 13 and 12 points,
respectively, to lead ECSU, which falls to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the
LEC. |

RIC
is off for finals and the Christmas Break. The Anchormen will resume
the season at the College of Staten Island Holiday Tournament on Dec.
27-28. The Warriors will play at the Hamilton College Tournament on
Jan. 3-4. |
