Rhode Island College Gymnastics Update #2

(2-4 Overall; 2-4 in the ECAC)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team saw their first action in almost two weeks when the Anchorwomen traveled to SUNY-Cortland for a quad-meet with SUNY-Brockport and Springfield, three of the toughest teams in the ECAC on Saturday, Jan. 31.

RIC posted a team score of 174.025, which was short of Springfield's 181.600, Cortland's 181.700 and Brockport's 182.050. The Anchorwomen are now 2-4 overall and 2-4 in the ECAC.

Junior Caren Normandin (Fall River, MA) is averaging scores of 9.263 on vault, 8.488 on bars, 9.450 on beam, 9.238 on floor and 36.413 in the all-around. Normandin posted the squad's highest marks on vault (9.275), beam (9.400), floor (9.150) and in the all-around (36.100) at the Cortland quad-meet.

Freshman Hannah Scott (Deep River, CT) is averaging scores of 8.750 on vault, 8.438 on bars, 8.750 on beam, 8.600 on floor and 34.675 in the all-around.

Freshman Megan Joseph (Hope, RI) is averaging scores of 8.700 on vault, 7.400 on bars, 8.325 on beam, 8.700 on floor and 33.300 in the all-around.

Freshman Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI) is averaging scores of 9.050 on vault, 7.400 on bars, 7.900 on beam, 8.700 on floor and 32.900 in the all-around.

Junior Michaela Hogan (Warwick, RI) is averaging scores of 8.750 on vault, 8.338 on bars and 8.538 on floor. Hogan posted the team's top bars score (8.725) at the Cortland quad-meet.

Freshman Kristina Lemanis (Smithtown, NY) is averaging a score of 8.000 on bars.

Sophomore Cristy Pforr (Pembroke, MA) is averaging scores of 8.588 on vault, 8.350 on beam and 8.075 on floor.

Freshman Cassie O’Blenis (Warren, RI) is averaging a score of 6.400 on bars.

Junior Staci Freedman (Raynham, MA) is averaging a score of 9.100 on beam.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at Div. II Bridgeport on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.
