Durgin leads Anchormen over
Beacons
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College led from the start en route to a 71-56 victory over
visiting Little East Conference foe UMass-Boston. With the victory,
the Anchormen improve to 9-12 overall and 5-5 in conference play as
the Beacons fall to 5-16 overall and 1-9 in the LEC. |

RIC freshman guard
Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood,
ME) led the
Anchormen with 18 points while also contributing four rebounds and
five assists. The other Anchorman scoring in double figures was senior
guard Kamran Alemdar (Stockholm,
Sweden) who
had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Also with a
well-rounded game was freshman center Kevin Zalucki (Enfield,
CT) who had
eight points and seven rebounds. |

UMB junior guard
Roger Perry (Roxbury,
MA) had a
game-high 19 points, while freshman guard Tony Barros (Dorchester,
MA) tallied a
double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing ten rebounds in a losing
effort. |

The win snapped
completed a season-sweep of the Beacons. RIC also extends its home
court winning streak to four consecutive victories at The Murray
Center this winter. |

|
In upcoming action, RIC
will host UMass-Dartmouth on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. UMB will
play at Southern Maine on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. |
