Rhode Island College Gymnastics Update #3

(3-5 Overall; 3-4 in the ECAC)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team split two meets this past week as they were defeated, 183.250-177.250, at Bridgeport on Feb. 6, but rebounded to vault past Wilson, 173.375-162.350, at home on Feb. 8.

Junior Caren Normandin (Fall River, MA) is averaging scores of 9.263 on vault, 8.569 on bars, 9.406 on beam, 9.294 on floor and 36.532 in the all-around. Normandin posted the squad's highest marks on vault (9.250), beam (9.375), floor (9.275) and in the all-around (36.400) vs. Wilson.

Freshman Hannah Scott (Deep River, CT) is averaging scores of 8.769 on vault, 8.306 on bars, 8.525 on beam, 8.850 on floor and 34.450 in the all-around.

Freshman Megan Joseph (Hope, RI) is averaging scores of 8.756 on vault, 7.517 on bars, 8.631 on beam, 8.913 on floor and 34.067 in the all-around.

Freshman Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI) is averaging scores of 9.056 on vault, 7.338 on bars, 8.063 on beam, 8.783 on floor and 33.255 in the all-around.

Junior Michaela Hogan (Warwick, RI) is averaging scores of 8.792 on vault, 8.300 on bars and 8.538 on floor. Hogan posted the team's top bars score (8.875) vs. Wilson.

Freshman Kristina Lemanis (Smithtown, NY) is averaging a score of 8.000 on bars.

Sophomore Cristy Pforr (Pembroke, MA) is averaging scores of 8.444 on vault, 8.469 on beam and 8.525 on floor.

Freshman Cassie O’Blenis (Warren, RI) is averaging scores of 8.650 on vault and 6.400 on bars.

Junior Staci Freedman (Raynham, MA) is averaging scores of 9.050 on beam and 9.188 on floor.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at Southern Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 14.
