RIC STORMS BACK TO DEFEAT HUSKIES |
|
Providence, RI—Despite
trailing Southern Maine by two points at the half, Rhode Island
College came back to hand the Huskies a, 77-61, loss at The Murray
Center on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, RIC improves to 11-12
overall and 7-5 in the Little East. It was the fourth consecutive win
for the Anchormen, as they set a new RIC record by winning its fifth
straight, home Little East game. |

Two seniors had a big game for RIC on Senior Day. RIC senior guard
Kamran Alemdar (Stockholm,
Sweden)
led the Anchormen as he scored 18 points, grabbed six boards, swiped
four steals and dished out two assists. Senior guard Lester Carter
(Boston,
MA)
had 11 points, seven boards, three steals and an assist. Three other
Anchormen scored in double figures as freshman Kevin Zalucki (Enfield,
CT)
had 14, while sophomore Brian Stanko (Swansea,
MA)
and freshman Kamari Williams (Springfield,
MA)
each had 12. |

scored 15 points in a losing effort. |

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Western Connecticut on Tuesday,
Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. The Huskies will play at Plymouth State on
