Rhode Island College Gymnastics Update #5

(3-6 Overall; 3-4 in the ECAC)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team is 3-6 overall and are 3-4 against ECAC Div. III competition. The Anchorwomen saw action at the Harriet Marranca Invitational, hosted by Ithaca College, on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Anchorwomen placed fifth out of six teams with a score of 171.675. Ithaca won the invitational with a score of 186.475.

Junior Caren Normandin (Fall River, MA) led the team on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at Ithaca, posting scores of 9.250 on vault, 9.375 on beam, 9.200 on floor and 36.425 in the all-around.

Normandin is averaging scores of 9.279 on vault, 8.610 on bars, 9.425 on beam, 9.238 on floor and 36.554 in the all-around.

Freshman Hannah Scott (Deep River, CT) is averaging scores of 8.654 on vault, 8.421 on bars, 8.642 on beam, 8.971 on floor and 34.688 in the all-around.

Freshman Megan Joseph (Hope, RI) is averaging scores of 8.838 on vault, 7.505 on bars, 8.446 on beam, 8.792 on floor and 33.685 in the all-around.

Freshman Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI) is averaging scores of 9.013 on vault, 7.342 on bars, 8.033 on beam, 8.805 on floor and 33.170 in the all-around.

Junior Michaela Hogan (Warwick, RI) led the team on bars at Ithaca, posting a score of 9.050. She is averaging scores of 8.919 on vault, 8.365 on bars and 8.538 on floor.

Freshman Kristina Lemanis (Smithtown, NY) is averaging a score of 7.600 on bars.

Sophomore Cristy Pforr (Pembroke, MA) is averaging scores of 8.490 on vault, 8.396 on beam and 8.654 on floor.

Freshman Cassie O’Blenis (Warren, RI) is averaging scores of 8.813 on vault, 6.400 on bars and 8.513 on floor.

Junior Staci Freedman (Raynham, MA) is averaging scores of 9.050 on beam and 9.188 on floor.

Sophomore Katelyn Guignard (Newton, NJ) is averaging a score of 7.625 on beam.

In upcoming action, RIC will host Springfield College and Brown University, on Friday, March 5.
