Meghan Mooney and Audrey Davis Earn
Little East Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

 

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior Meghan Mooney (North Scituate, RI) and freshman Audrey Davis (Stroudsburg, PA) helped the Anchorwomen to a perfect 2-0 week and earned Little East Conference weekly honors in women’s tennis.

 

Mooney was named the Little East Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. She went 2-0 at number two singles and earned the match-clinching victory in the LEC win over Southern Maine. She is 2-2 (.500) at number two singles and 0-3 (.000) at number one doubles for 2.0 points on the season.

 

She is a communications major and a 2001 graduate of Scituate High School.

 

Davis was the Little East Conference Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week. Davis went 2-0 at both number three singles and number two doubles for the Anchorwomen. Davis is 3-0 (1.000) in singles and 3-0 (1.000) in doubles for 4.5 points on the season.

 

She is a business management major and a 2001 graduate of Stroudsburg High School.

 

Head Coach Kelly Chartier’s Anchorwomen are 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen had two Little East Conference matches last week and were victorious in both of them. RIC defeated Western Connecticut, 7-2, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and beat Southern Maine, 5-4, on Friday, Sept. 17.
