Rhode Island College Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Update #2

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Bryant University Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 9. The Anchormen placed seventh with a team score of 39.0. Bryant won the meet with a score of 122.50.

Senior Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) placed first in the hammer throw with a distance of 162’08.00” and 19^th in the shot with a distance of 36’00.75”.

Junior Nick Palazzo (Johnston, RI) placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 154’03.00”.

Junior Rich Palazzo (Johnston, RI) placed fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 154’00.00”.

Sophomore Dan Newman (Smithfield, RI) placed second in the high jump with a leap of 6’02.00”. He placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6’00.00” at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Freshman Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 14^th in the 400 meters with a time of 53.47. He placed 18^th in the 400 meters with a time of 55.22 at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Sophomore Matt Goroza (West Warwick, RI) placed 28^th in both the 200 and 400 meters with times of 24.72 and 56.62, respectively. Goroza placed 19^th in the 400 meters with a time of 57.38 at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Junior Tim Goodwin (Warwick, RI) placed 11^th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:45.02. He placed 19^th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:27.46 at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Sophomore Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed ninth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:16.68. He placed seventh in the 5,000 meters with a time 16:08.31 at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Freshman James Isherwood (Smithfield, RI) placed 17^th in the 200 meters and 13^th in the 100 meter hurdles with time of 23.97 and 21.07, respectively.

Sophomore Bo Luong (Millbury, MA) placed tenth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump with leaps of 18’10.00” and 38’10.00”, respectively.

Freshman James Polak (Smithfield, RI) placed 24^th in the discus with a distance of 90’09.00”.

Junior Manny Karngar (Providence, RI) placed third in the 400 meters and 11^th in the 1,500 meters with times of 50.21 and 4:19.44, respectively, at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Freshman Jordan Wright (Brookline, MA) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 41’07.75”, as well as 15^th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.01, at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

Senior Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed 23^rd in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:39.26 at the Snowflake Classic on Mar. 26.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the Albany Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 16.
