Providence, RI--Head
Coach Maria Morin’s team is 14-12 overall and 5-1 in the Little
East Conference. The Anchorwomen played four doubleheaders last week,
going 5-3. RIC dropped two games at Coast Guard on Tuesday, Apr. 12
(3-2, 3-0), before sweeping Salve Regina (8-0, 4-0) at home on
Thursday, Apr. 14. The Anchorwomen then went on to win three of their
final four games of the week. RIC took two on the road against LEC foe
UMass Boston (8-0, 10-0) on Saturday, Apr. 16. The Anchorwomen then
hosted LEC opponent Southern Maine on Sunday, Apr. 17 and split with
the doubleheader with Huskies, losing game one, 1-0, but coming back
to take game two, 1-0, in eight innings. |

Sophomore pitcher Nicole Riley (North
Providence, RI)
has played in 15 games, starting 11 of them. She is batting .212 with
seven hits, one triple, one stolen base four runs scored and four RBI.
Riley owns a .273 slugging percentage, a .278 on base percentage and a
.880 fielding percentage. On the mound, she has appeared in 16 games,
starting ten of them. She owns a 6-4 record with a save. She has a
team-best 2.10 ERA and has pitched three complete games. In a
team-high 70.0 innings pitched, she has struck out a team-high 67
batters. She appeared in four games last week, going 2-0 with
one save. She logged a miniscule .37 earned run average with 20
strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. She fired a perfect game (5 inn.) in
RIC’s 10-0 win over UMass Boston on Apr. 16. She followed that up with
a complete game, two-hitter in the 1-0 (8 inn.) win over
Southern Maine on Apr. 17. |

Freshman first baseman Christie Lotti (Waterford,
CT)
has played in 25 games, starting 24 of them. She is batting a
team-high .385 with a team-high 30 hits, 18 runs scored, eight walks,
two triples and two home runs along with six doubles and eight RBI.
Lotti owns a .590 slugging percentage, a .442 on base percentage and a
.990 fielding percentage. She went 12-for-26 last week for a
.462 batting average. She had ten runs scored, six RBI, two doubles,
two triples, a home run and five stolen bases. Lotti tripled and
scored the winning run on a passed ball in RIC’s 1-0 (8 inn.) win over
Southern Maine on Apr. 17. |

Freshman catcher/third baseman Jill DeLuca (West
Warwick, RI)
has played in 18 games, starting 13 of them. She is batting .340 with
16 hits, one home run, three doubles, one triple, one walk, 11 runs
scored and five RBI. DeLuca owns a .511 slugging percentage, a .367 on
base percentage and a .857 fielding percentage. |

Senior third baseman Amy Machado (Newport,
RI)
has played in 25 games, starting 24 of them. She is batting .354 with
28 hits, nine doubles, two triples, ten runs scored and 14 RBI.
Machado owns a .519 slugging percentage, a .366 on-base percentage and
a .915 fielding percentage. |

Junior outfielder Katie Benevides (North
Dighton, MA)
has played in 23 games, starting all of them. She is batting .224 with
13 hits, one double, four runs scored, two RBI and two walks.

Junior shortstop/outfielder Adora Burke (Naples,
ME)
has played in 23 games, starting 18 of them. She is batting .347 with
17 hits, three doubles, one triple, eight walks, nine runs scored and
seven RBI. Burke owns a .449 slugging percentage and a .439 on base
percentage along with a .881 fielding percentage. |

has played in 21 games, starting 20 of them. She is batting .204 with

RI)
has played in 19 games, starting 12 of them. She is batting .231 with

Wareham, MA)

Sophomore infielder Crystal O’Connell (Somerset, MA) has played
in 14 games, starting 11 of them. She is batting .130 with three hits,
three runs scored, three walks, two stolen bases and two RBI.

and a .920 fielding percentage. |

Sophomore infielder Katelyn Labelle (South Dartmouth, MA) has
played in 15 games, starting ten of them. She is batting .158 with
three hits, one double, three walks, four runs scored and one RBI.

Freshman catcher Krystal Bilek (Fitchburg, MA) has played in

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen are scheduled to play four
doubleheaders this week. RIC will open up the week at home against LEC
opponent UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Apr. 19 at 3:30 p.m. The
Anchorwomen will travel to non-conference foe Westfield State on
Thursday, Apr. 21 at 3:30 p.m., before hosting LEC opponent Plymouth
State on Saturday, Apr. 23 at 1 p.m. The Anchorwomen will finish the
week off on the road on Sunday, Apr. 24 at 1 p.m. at Western
Connecticut. |
