Christie Lotti Earns Little East
Softball Player of the Week Honors
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College freshman first baseman Christie Lotti (Waterford,
CT)
was named the Little East Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Lotti was named the LEC’s Rookie of the Week one week ago. |

|
Lotti went 8-for-13 for a .615 average with one homer, two triples,
seven runs scored and five RBI in a 4-0 week for the Anchorwomen. She
went 6-for-8 with a homer, two triples, six runs scored and two RBI in
RIC’s two-game sweep over UMass-Dartmouth on Apr. 21. |

For the season, she has played in 29 games, starting 28 of them. She
is batting a team-high .418 with a team-high 38 hits, 25 runs scored,
11 walks, four triples and three home runs along with six doubles and
13 RBI. Lotti owns a .670 slugging percentage, a .480 on base
percentage and a .975 fielding percentage. |

Lotti is a 2004 graduate of Waterford High School. |

|
Head Coach Maria Morin’s team is 18-12 overall and 7-1 in the
Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen had four doubleheaders
scheduled last week, however two of them were postponed due to
inclement weather. RIC went 4-0 on the week, taking two games from LEC
rival UMass Dartmouth (5-0, 8-3) on Tuesday, Apr. 19, before going on
the road and sweeping Westfield State (3-0, 6-0) on Thursday, Apr. 21. |

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen are scheduled to play three
doubleheaders this week, and possibly a fourth. RIC will open up the
week on the road against non-conference opponent Worcester State on
Wednesday, Apr. 27 at 3:30 p.m. The Anchorwomen will then host LEC foe
Plymouth State on Friday, Apr. 29 at 3:30 p.m., before hosting LEC
rival Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Apr. 30 at 1 p.m. The
Anchorwomen will make-up last Sunday’s rainout against Western
Connecticut at a date and time to be determined. |
