Rhode Island College Announces
2004 Fall Sports MVPs

 

 

 

Providence, RI-- The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Fall Banquet at RIC’s Donovan Dining Center on Monday, Dec. 6 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity fall athletics. Each sport gave out their Most Valuable Player Award.

 

 

 

Women’s Tennis

Senior Meghan Mooney (North Scituate, RI) was named the women’s tennis team’s MVP. Mooney was 11-4 (.733) at number two singles and 9-5 (.643) at number one doubles for 15.5 points helping RIC to an undefeated, 13-0, season. She was second on the team in singles wins and points, and was tied for third in doubles wins. She leaves RIC with a 42-16 (.724) career singles record and a 39-18 (.684) career doubles mark for 61.5 career points. Mooney is third all-time at RIC in career singles wins, is fourth in points and doubles wins, and is 10th in singles winning percentage and 12th in doubles winning percentage.

She is a communications major and a 2001 graduate of Scituate High School.
