Rhode Island College Women’s Gymnastics Update #4

(1-9 Overall; 1-8 in the ECAC)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Bob Nannig’s team is 1-9 overall and 1-8 against ECAC Div. III competition on the season. RIC competed at Div. I University of Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 5 and lost, 185.150-166.200.

Senior co-captain Caren Normandin (Fall River, MA) is averaging scores of 8.981 on vault, 7.600 on bars, 9.067 on beam, 8.931 on floor and 34.800 in the all-around. Normandin posted the team’s best score on beam with a 9.200 at the URI meet.

Senior co-captain Michaela Hogan (Warwick, RI) is averaging scores of 8.975 on vault, 8.150 on bars and 8.600 on floor.

Sophomore Melissa Jones (Cranston, RI) is averaging scores of 8.942 on vault, 6.850 on bars, 9.100 on beam, 8.633 on floor and 34.050 in the all-around.

Sophomore Megan Joseph (Hope, RI) is averaging scores of 8.944 on vault, 8.150 on beam and 8.888 on floor.

Junior Cristy Pforr (Pembroke, MA) is averaging scores of 9.000 on vault, 6.200 on beam and 8.850 on floor.

Freshman Melissa Demirjian (Warwick, RI) is averaging scores of 7.767 on bars, 8.275 on beam and 8.675 on floor. Demirjian posted the team’s highest marks on bars and floor at the URI meet with scores of 8.000 and 8.675, respectively.

Sophomore Kristina Lemanis (Smithtown, NY) is averaging a score of 7.300 on bars.

Sophomore Hannah Scott (Deep River, CT) is averaging scores of 8.625 on vault, 7.483 on bars, 8.117 on beam, 8.175 on floor and 32.300 in the all-around. Scott saw action on all four events for the first time in a meet this season at URI.

Sophomore Danielle Soucy (Gloucester, MA) is averaging scores of 8.725 on vault and 7.200 on bars.

Freshman Caitlyn Owens (Carmel, NY) is averaging scores of 7.750 on bars and 8.644 on beam.

Sophomore Cassie O’Blenis (Warren, RI) is averaging scores of 9.000 on vault, 6.200 on bars and 8.850 on beam. O’Blenis posted the team’s highest mark on vault with an 8.975 at the URI meet.

In upcoming action, RIC will host Div. II Bridgeport on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
